Artwork & Design Policy

This Artwork & Design Policy explains the requirements and responsibilities related to artwork, graphics, logos, text, dielines, proofs, design files, printing specifications, and customer approvals for custom packaging orders placed with Packaging Hype.

Because custom packaging is manufactured according to customer-approved specifications, customers should carefully review all artwork and design details before giving final approval for production.

Customer-Provided Artwork

Customers may provide artwork, logos, graphics, text, branding elements, images, dielines, or other design materials for use on their custom packaging.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that submitted artwork and content are accurate, complete, and suitable for the intended packaging project.

Where possible, artwork should be supplied in a print-ready format with sufficient quality for the requested printing process.

If submitted artwork requires adjustment, conversion, or clarification before production, Packaging Hype may contact the customer before proceeding.

Artwork File Requirements

Artwork requirements may vary depending on the packaging structure, printing method, material, and finishing options selected.

For best production results, customers may be asked to provide:

  • Vector artwork where available
  • High-resolution graphics
  • Correctly sized artwork
  • Appropriate color specifications
  • Embedded or outlined fonts where applicable
  • Logos and images suitable for commercial printing
  • Correctly positioned design elements
  • Required bleed and safe-area allowances
  • Any other production-specific information requested by our team

If a submitted file is not suitable for production, Packaging Hype may request a revised file or discuss available adjustments with the customer.

Dielines and Packaging Templates

Where applicable, Packaging Hype may provide or work with dielines or packaging templates showing the structural layout of a box.

Customers should place artwork according to the applicable dieline and carefully review the positioning of:

  • Logos
  • Text
  • Images
  • Barcodes
  • QR codes
  • Legal or regulatory information
  • Fold lines
  • Cut lines
  • Bleed areas
  • Safe areas
  • Front, back, top, bottom, and side panels

Dielines and templates supplied for a Packaging Hype project should be used for the intended project and specifications.

Changes to box dimensions, structure, or material may require an updated dieline or artwork adjustment.

Artwork Review

Packaging Hype may review submitted artwork for general production suitability and may identify obvious technical concerns when reasonably apparent.

However, our artwork review should not be treated as professional proofreading, legal review, regulatory review, trademark clearance, or verification of every element supplied by the customer.

The customer remains responsible for reviewing and approving the final content and design.

Digital Proofs

Where applicable, Packaging Hype may provide a digital proof or artwork representation for customer review before production.

Digital proofs are intended primarily to confirm matters such as:

  • Artwork placement
  • General layout
  • Text positioning
  • Logo placement
  • Design orientation
  • Packaging panel arrangement
  • General printing specifications

A digital proof is a representation of the proposed packaging and may not reproduce the exact appearance of the final physical product.

Customer Approval

Production may require final customer approval of the applicable artwork, proof, dieline, or specifications.

By approving artwork or a proof, the customer confirms that they have reviewed and accepted the applicable details, including where relevant:

  • Spelling
  • Grammar
  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Website addresses
  • Product information
  • Logos
  • Images
  • Barcodes
  • QR codes
  • Colors
  • Dimensions
  • Artwork placement
  • Orientation
  • Printing details
  • Finishes
  • Other visible design elements

Customers should not approve artwork until they are satisfied that the information and design are correct.

Spelling, Content, and Customer-Supplied Errors

Packaging Hype is not responsible for errors contained in customer-provided or customer-approved artwork when the finished packaging materially follows the approved design.

This may include customer-approved errors involving:

  • Spelling
  • Grammar
  • Contact information
  • Product descriptions
  • Ingredients or instructions
  • Legal text
  • Barcodes
  • QR codes
  • Logos
  • Images
  • Artwork placement
  • Other customer-supplied content

Customers should thoroughly proofread and verify all information before final approval.

Colors and Screen-to-Print Differences

Colors displayed on computer monitors, phones, tablets, or other digital screens may differ from colors produced through physical printing.

Differences can result from factors such as:

  • Screen calibration
  • RGB versus print color systems
  • Printing method
  • Ink
  • Material or substrate
  • Coatings
  • Lamination
  • Finishes
  • Lighting conditions
  • Normal production tolerances

For this reason, digital proofs should not be considered a guarantee of exact screen-to-print color matching.

Where precise color matching is particularly important, customers should communicate the requirement before production so available options can be discussed.

Physical Samples and Prototypes

Where available and appropriate for a project, a physical sample or prototype may be requested or recommended before full production.

Samples can help evaluate factors such as structure, dimensions, material, fit, and general appearance.

Sample availability, cost, production method, printing, and turnaround depend on the individual project and should be confirmed separately.

A sample may also differ in certain respects from full production depending on the sample-production method used.

Barcodes and QR Codes

Customers who include barcodes, QR codes, or other machine-readable elements in their artwork are responsible for supplying accurate information and verifying that the applicable code is correct.

Packaging Hype may reproduce such elements as part of approved artwork but does not guarantee that every barcode or QR code will function in every scanning environment, device, size, material, finish, or printing condition.

Customers should test critical codes before approving full production where functionality is essential.

Fonts and Licensed Design Assets

Customers are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights or licenses to use fonts, photographs, illustrations, stock images, logos, graphics, or other protected assets submitted for production.

Where required for production, customers may be asked to outline, embed, package, or otherwise properly prepare fonts and related artwork assets.

Intellectual Property Rights

By submitting artwork, logos, trademarks, images, text, designs, or other materials to Packaging Hype, the customer represents that they own the materials or have sufficient permission, authorization, or licensing to use and reproduce them for the requested packaging.

Customers are responsible for claims arising from materials they supply without appropriate rights or authorization.

Packaging Hype may decline to produce artwork that reasonably appears unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, deceptive, or otherwise inappropriate for production.

Packaging Hype Design Assistance

Packaging Hype may provide artwork preparation, layout assistance, technical adjustments, or other design-related support depending on the requirements of the project.

The scope of any design assistance should be confirmed for the applicable order.

Design assistance does not transfer responsibility for final customer approval. Customers must still review and approve the final artwork and specifications before production.

Artwork Changes Before Approval

Customers may request reasonable artwork changes before final approval and before the affected production stage begins.

Depending on the scope of the requested changes, additional design work, revised specifications, or changes to the production schedule may be required.

If a requested change affects pricing or turnaround, the customer will be informed before the affected work proceeds.

Artwork Changes After Approval

Once final artwork has been approved and production or another irreversible custom process has begun, changes may no longer be possible.

If a change can still be made, additional costs and production time may apply.

Requests for changes to an approved order should be submitted as soon as possible and are handled according to the stage of production and our Cancellation & Order Changes Policy.

Production Based on Approved Artwork

Packaging Hype manufactures custom packaging according to the final approved artwork and order specifications.

If the finished product materially matches the customer-approved artwork and specifications, customer-approved design or content errors generally do not qualify as production defects.

If the finished packaging contains a production error attributable to Packaging Hype and materially differs from the approved artwork or specifications, the customer should contact us so the issue can be reviewed under our applicable Refund & Return Policy.

Reporting an Artwork or Printing Issue

If you believe your finished packaging materially differs from the approved artwork or specifications due to a production error, contact Packaging Hype within 7 calendar days after delivery.

Please provide:

  • Customer name or business name
  • Order or invoice number
  • Description of the issue
  • Clear photographs or other supporting evidence
  • Any additional information reasonably requested to review the claim

Packaging Hype will review the reported issue and determine the appropriate resolution according to the circumstances and applicable policies.

Artwork File Retention

Packaging Hype may retain artwork, proofs, order specifications, and related production files for a reasonable period for order administration, reorders, customer support, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, or legal purposes.

Customers should maintain their own original and backup copies of important artwork and design files.

Packaging Hype should not be treated as the customer’s permanent artwork storage or archival service.
